Wayne Clayton McPherson, 61, of Harrisville, RI, passed away on June 5th, 2023. Born on April 5th, 1962, in Presque Isle, ME, to Clayton McPherson and the late Lois Dailey, Wayne lived most of his life in Harrisville, where he built a home, raised his children, and pursued a fulfilling career as an Ironworker for 40 years. In 2014, he established Remington Steel which was co-owned by his son. Wayne's love for work, learning, and construction was matched only by his ability to lighten any room with his quick wit and humor. His vibrant presence, infectious joy, and unwavering love uplifted everyone he encountered. Wayne's faith was deeply rooted in his devotion to God, and for 30 years, he found spiritual fulfillment at Awakening Church (formerly New Life Worship Center). He cherished the church community for its fellowship, familial bond, and commitment to Jesus Christ.

Wayne leaves behind a loving family, including his cherished wife, Liliana McPherson; his son Jacob and wife Jacklyn McPherson of Mapleville; his daughter Nicole McPherson and boyfriend Anthony DePaolis of Burlington, CT; his sister Susan McPherson Cannon of Plainville, CT; his ex-wife Marianne McPherson of North Providence; his stepson Brian Rooney of North Providence; his stepdaughters Dina Romero of North Providence and Claudia Romero of Orlando, FL; his granddaughter Nova McPherson; and his step-grandsons Jacob Boisvert, Izaiah Santana, and Raziel Rivera. He was preceded in death by his sisters Judy Mae Kelly and Sherry Lynn McPherson. Wayne also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A funeral service to honor Wayne's life will be held at Awakening Church, 1 New England Way, Smithfield, RI 02917, on Saturday, June 17th, 2023. Calling hours will be observed from 2pm to 3pm, followed by the funeral service at 3pm. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to join them in paying their respects and celebrating Wayne's remarkable life.
